Once again, the Mayan EDMS project was a pioneer shedding light on a significant issue that was met with dismissive laughter and accusations of conspiracy theory or excessive complaint: negative SEO and ticket bombing.
Mainstream developers are starting to express concern now that negative SEO and ticket bombing have become widespread practices. But when it happened to Mayan EDMS there was either silence or derisive responses.
GitHub appears to be taking their time to address this problem (or might not care, remember it’s owned by Microsoft).
Spam tickets are rapidly indexed by Google, whereas legitimate tickets remain inaccessible through search functionality. It appears that Google is making the problem worse.
This is why I’m never switching away from Mayan EDMS, they’ve not only built the best open source DMS but have been correct about so many other things that affect the tech and software spaces.
