Issues with Search on 4.8.3

Hi,

as I finally switched over to Mayan for our DMS, I’m still struggling with some issues.

1. Search returns only 10 results - I know that this issue is already known but I could not find a way to overcome this
2. Tried to configure the system for ElasticSearch - no success yet. Whatever I tried, when I activate ElasticSearch, the system won’t start any more. Has someone any help for me?
3. I’ve got the impression that woosh does not return all results. The documents are properly processed with OCR and in the overview I can see that a key word is present. When I try to search for this keyword, the document is not being found.

Sorry for having so much questions - otherwise the system is great and a real joy to use.

If you split topics we can provide better information. Separate topics are also search friendlier for the benefit of the other users.

This appear to be a recent issue with Whoosh, we are still investigating the cause and if there is something we can to do address from within Mayan. There is already a topic on the subject.

Search only show 10 documents

Hi, Is there any reason that the search in Mayan only show 10 documents at most? I just setup a brand new Mayan EDMS instance, from official 4.83 docker image without any modification. Upload total of 19 documents. No matter how I search (basic search with keyword, or advance search default document type) it will only show 10 documents even though I know all 19 documents should show up. As I didn’t change any settings at all, “SEARCH_RESULT_LIMIT” is default number 1000. Thanks

Enabling ElasticSearch is not straightforwards and also doing so will double the resources required for the stack. Here is the Knowledge Base tutorial on the subject:
