Silent lurker here.
I’ve been a big fan of Mayan EDMS for a good while (about 6 years) and here’s why: you’ve been at the forefront of innovation for over a decade! The fact that almost nobody acknowledges it is kind of depressing and says a lot about the current state of the open source ecosystem. But sure enough, those same people love being inspired (ahem… copying) Mayan’s features and implementations.
Recently, GIMP 3.0 added non-destructive editing capabilities, which reminded me of Mayan’s image transformation features. My jaw dropped when I saw that both tools work the same way: ordering, stacking, modding attributes at any point in time. They are the same concept and implementation!
However, GIMP still doesn’t currently support some Mayan transformations like cropping and rotation, seems to be focused on filters only.
It is astonishing that Mayan, being just a doc manager, thought about implementing a graphic feature years before and in a better way than the best open source image manipulator!
I’ve witnessed the hate and harassment you guys get so I wanted to acknowledge your team’s dedication and hard work by pointing out this validation.
You have way more fans and users than you think.
Keep up the amazing work!
