Applying workflow transitions to multiple documents [fixed title]

Hey Everyone,
I’m looking for a way to apply a workflow transaction to multiple documents (as the title suggests).

I have a “Document Lifecycle” workload with 3 stages.

If I go into a single document, then I can go to “Workflows” in the right hand sidebar, then select “Transitions”. This will allow me to run the transition on that document, but I cannot find a way to run the transition on bulk selections.

I’m still getting into Mayan and I’m still fine tuning the metadata etc, so I occasionally need to send existing documents back through the workflow to have then re-processed, in this case the “Redo Metadata” transition.

Is there a way that I can either send an entire Cabinet or Document Type through the entire Workflow or just apply the single transition to them?

Thanks in advance,
John

Hi,

This is not possible at the moment because the transition form performs multiple steps. On step ask for a comment, the next step might ask to fill out a workflow form if one was configured.

Because the actual flow of forms is unpredictable, it is not possible to transition the workflows of multiple documents.

We’ll try to add this using the same logic when editing the metadata of multiple documents. The restriction is that the documents must be of the same type and any data entered as part of the workflow transitions will be applied to all documents. This is not a problem is you are not using a workflow transition form.

Marked as follow up to discuss if an implementation is possible.

Thanks, Roberto - for your reply, and future consideration.
