Mayan login broken after update... just spins with following error (in page source)

Post by solano1 » Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:58 pm

Before updating we were getting a lot of intermittent "internal server error" and generic "server error" messages. Unable to see anything in any of the logs related to Mayan that would indicate a problem, and nothing was popping up in real time while tailing log files and generating those errors.

Hoping that the update from 3.1.10 to the latest 3.2.6 would resolve that, it didn't seem to unfortunately.

So we rebooted the machine and now can not even get a login prompt from Mayan.

When hitting port 8000 to log in, we just get a continuously refreshing blank page whose source code is the following:

Code: Select all

<script>
    if (typeof partialNavigation === 'undefined') {
        /* Check if the template was not loaded via AJAX
         * If not then reload the root path passing the
         * current location's path as the new hash
         */
        document.write('<script type="text/undefined">')
        var currentPath = window.location.pathname + window.location.search;
        window.location = '/#' + currentPath;
    }
</script>

    <div class="">
        <div class="row zero-margin">
            <div class="col-xs-12">

            </div>
        </div>

        <div class="row zero-margin">
            <div class="col-xs-12 " id="viewport">

    <h3 title='Create'>

    Create

    </h3>

    <hr/>

    <div class="content">
        <h3 class="title">Server error</h3>
        <div class="inner">
            <p>There's been an error. It's been reported to the site administrators via e-mail and should be fixed shortly. Thanks for your patience.</p>
        </div>
    </div>

            </div>

        </div>
    </div>

<script>
    var DjangoMessages = [

    ];
</script>

<script>
    document.title = 'Server error :: Mayan EDMS';
    // Strip HTML entities from the title
    document.title = document.title.replace(/&(?:[a-z\d]+|#\d+|#x[a-f\d]+);/ig, '');
    afterBaseLoad();
</script>

Ditto.

I thought I had messed up.
Did you follow the "Common Steps" (post install) section of the update...

https://docs.mayan-edms.com/releases/3.2.6.html

I just did, hoping that was the problem, but still seems to have same behavior (broken) :(

BUT... after reboot, it's alive again! :D

Probably didn't need reboot after the "Common Steps" post-install, probably just needed restart of supervisor and redis.

btw, if you run into "permission denied" on mayan.conf command, I resolved it by temporarily making it 777 and then put it back to 644.

sudo chmod 777 mayan.conf
[run the command]
sudo chmod 644 mayan.conf

of course this exposes your conf file & database password for a moment.
