Cannot connect to Active Directory

Post by milan.gjorchevski » Thu Oct 18, 2018 12:59 pm

Hi all,

We have installed Mayan 3.1.7 with Advanced Deployment on Ubuntu 18.04 and we try to connect Mayan EDMS with Active Directory.
We tried following:

https://mayan.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ ... tings.html - to set the settings file

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/m ... pAAkfIAAAJ - to connect to AD
...and bunch of other link without success.

We are not very familiar with django/python settings configuration and we are not sure how to set LDAP file settings to be read by Mayan EDMS.

Can you please give us some instructions how to set DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE in supervisor and where and how to initiate settings file for AD integration?

Any help is very much appreciated!

Thanks,
Misha.

Is your local settings file getting loaded at Mayan startup?

Make sure its being loaded or add the command line option like, --settings=mayan.media.mayan_settings.mysettings
where mysettings.py is located in the mayan_settings folder.

Also, with AD/LDAP settings make sure there is no typo in the base DN or groups or Bind DN, etc. one typo can cause the AD connection to fail.

Once you confirm that your local settings file is being loaded on startup, and that you have installed the correct packages, you should be be able to follow the django-auth-ldap documentation to fill in the correct settings for your AD setup. The example configuration (https://django-auth-ldap.readthedocs.io ... ample.html) is particularly helpful. I would use that instead of the old posts with settings used by other Mayan users since those settings may not be appropriate for your setup.
