Mayan on Centos 7.

Post by hercovandyk » Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:41 am

Hey all!

I have a production Mayan EDMS (Version 2.1.6) flawlessly running on a CentOS server. I would like to install the latest version of Mayan on the same server.

I am not comfortable installing Mayan via Docker on this server. Is there a guide available to install the latest Mayan on CentOS/Redhat? I might be missing a crucial step.

Can the latest Mayan still run without supervisor? Even if it is ran as "mayan-edms runserver" ?

The initialsetup went fine, and I am able to use the runserver command. However, whenever I try to connect, I get a "Bad Request (400)" error.

This is the server log output:

[13/Nov/2018 07:43:48] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 400 26
[13/Nov/2018 07:43:48] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 400 26
[13/Nov/2018 07:43:50] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 400 26
[13/Nov/2018 07:43:50] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 400 26

Regards,
Herco

I got it working! Whoop whoop.

I was struggling to get the "runserver" command working, which it seems is NOT the way to run Mayan.

I followed the guide more cautiously and now supervisor is doing all the work!

+1 Mayan works perfectly with CentOS/RedHat.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, the runserver command is only for testing and should not be used for production. It also disables background tasks and periodic tasks. All processing will happen in a synchronous manner and will not scale.

Can you share the steps you used to install in CentOS?
Or post them to Wiki (https://wiki.mayan-edms.com/index.php?title=Main_Page)(User account is optional) for the benefit of others running CentOS.

Hi rosarior,

It would be my pleasure to do so.
