Workplan for version 3.3 of the book

Post by rosarior »

As soon as the final issues with the upgrades to version 3.3 are resolved, work on the new edition will start.

Any suggestions or requests for material for the book is welcomed.

If memory serves, there were some changes/expansion with the exif metadata processor in 3.3 so it runs on all file formats.
A small tutorial on how to use the data from exif to set things like metadata or query them in indexes would be a great idea!

Aside from that:
- production grade setups:
Scaling up (increasing number of app servers, proper mauan queue management with rabbitmq, etc)
Securing mayan
- example setups/architectures seen at previous customer sites (no need to mention any names, just size/num of documents and detail the configuration used in an architecture diagram type format)
- Troubleshooting (which can perhaps be covered in more detail on how the overall project fits together from a perspective of a non-python developer/linux sysadmin)

Aside from that, more and more examples or walkthroughs wherever possible, especially around workflows and automation would be awesome
Please bear with us during the current global situation. The team all have families and local communities to look after as well as the community here. Responses may be delayed during this time, but rest assured we will get to your query eventually.

It would be great to see the details needed for the API Calls or where to find them in the code in case of anything missing. Or more examples

Thank you !
