Cabinet Presentation

Post by briboe » Tue Sep 10, 2019 12:18 am

Was wondering if there is a way to tweak the UI for cabinets? We are trying to implement a simple document store for our condo association. Cabinets seem to be the best way (not too many documents to deal with). One issue we are running into is showing cabinets with no documents but having the documents in sub cabinets. The issue is the displaying of the message "Cabinet Level is empty" (see attached cabinet.png). Do not want that message to display. Is there a way to suppress this tile from displaying.
The attachment cabinet.PNG is no longer available
The second issue is with the sub cabinet display. The documents tile is too large and cuts off the tree display on the left. Is there a way to change the tile size? (see attached sub_cabinet.png)

Appreciate any guidance.

Thanks for the report.

At the moment there is no way to tweak the behavior of the cabinet tree display. It is rendered by a third party JavaScript library. We have been receiving several reports about its usability in situation with long name like yours. We'll try to tweak the CSS and HTML to see how we can prevent long names from flowing underneath the main panel. We've also been discussing removing the tree widget and use the same navigation widget being used for indexes. It is not as visually pleasing but since it is rendered using our own templates it behavior is predefined and easier to tweak. In the mean time we can add an setup option that switches between the two widgets styles if we can figure out a way to fix the behavior of the JavaScript tree widget.

The issue has been added to the work list for version 3.2.8. Thank you.

Fixed in version 3.2.8 just released. The cabinet tree will enable a scrollbar when the labels don't fit.
