Mayan at iPRES2019

Post by bluearchivist » Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:44 am

Mayan EDMS was featured in a talk at this year's iPRES (https://ipres2019.org). iPRES is the International Conference on Digital Preservation. The talk was given by Peter May, British Library’s Digital Preservation Technical Architect (https://www.dpconline.org/blog/integrat ... tion-suite).

His team is building "The Integrated Preservation Suite".
The Integrated Preservation Suite is an internally funded project at the British Library to develop and enhance the Library's preservation planning capability, largely focussed on automation and addressing the Library's heterogeneous collections. Through agile development practices, the project is iteratively designing and implementing the technical infrastructure for the suite as well as populating it with the content required for the infrastructure to work in a business environment. This paper provides an initial description of the suite's architecture and supporting data model.
The paper can be downloaded here: https://ipres2019.org/static/pdf/iPres2 ... er_107.pdf

iPRES is the top level event for digital preservation around the world. That Mayan EDMS was featured in a talk at the event is a real validation of the work you are doing. Anybody who is anybody in the field was in attendance.

The Mayan EDMS team should celebrate and be extremely proud of this achievement.
