Send the current document version document via an api call

I would like to send a document to a grobid service and retreive it’s tei json in a workflow to find the title of the document when it was published by what journal and who is the author and place this data into metadata.

Can I send a full document version via the api?

The mailing app does not expose its functionality via an API. This in on the roadmap pending a refactor of the email drivers that is taking place right now. There is no set date but could happen in version 4.6 or even 4.5 if time allows.
