How to assign OCR to metadafield using workflow

I’ve got some documents in Mayan and wantedn to set up OCR. I want it to be automated by using a workflow and assigning to metadata field. Does anyone know ?

OCR is enabled by default, there is no need to configure it.

This is a very broad and generic request. What kind of information are your looking to extract from the OCR?

This isn’t my question, but I would be interested in the answer as well.

Specifically, we are scanning our old Invoices. We would to put

Invoice Number
Invoice Date
Customer Name
Serial Number

in our Meta Data.

I would like to extract the date of the document, the number. Is there a way to extract them automatically when uploaded to Mayan ?
