Re: Recommended Automated Backups

I was able to do something similar for applying the Restic repo password, so my backups and purging of old snapshots is automated now. I have it writing to a daily log file when the script completes. Just trying to figure out how to purge the log files based on revision of the log file (like delete ...

Re: Recommended Automated Backups

I ended up installing Restic as you had mentioned. I was able to successfully obtain a snapshot with it of /docker-volumes and successfully restored to a test server. I'd like to automate Restic using Cron and Bash as well but I have noticed that Restic requires the repository password to be entered...

Re: Recommended Automated Backups

So I have Mayan installed using the Simple Docker Install and I am not finding pg_dump anywhere. Isn't it supposed to be included in the /bin folder of the PostgreSQL install? I'd like to try using it to dump the database using a bash script automated with cron then I can just use Barracuda to back ...

Recommended Automated Backups

What automated backup method would be recommended for a Simple Docker installation of Mayan on Ubuntu using all of the installation defaults? I currently have Barracuda Backup Agent performing a File System backup on my Mayan server. What would be the correct steps for restoring either everything an...

Re: [SOLVED] Simple Docker upgrade steps incorrect?

I'll look into that more. I was confused because on this Mayan page https://docs.mayan-edms.com/chapters/docker/docker_compose.html it says ' To deploy a complete production stack using the included Docker compose file execute: '. To me that indicated that Docker Compose is included in the Docker an...

Re: [SOLVED] Simple Docker upgrade steps incorrect?

I'm afraid I'm not finding very useful information for installing Docker Compose. Could you please point me in the right direction? When I run the command shown on Mayan's site it does not find the command.

docker-compose -f docker-compose.yml up -d

Thanks!

Re: Simple Docker upgrade steps incorrect?

That was successful! I had tried this before but had the incorrect directory due to the typo on Mayan's website. I corrected the directory to be mayan-edms and then started the container using the environment variables I installed with instead of not providing them as shown on the Mayan website. I w...

Re: Simple Docker upgrade steps incorrect?

The purpose of my upgrade is to make sure that the upgrade process works smoothly before officially deciding to use Mayan. So far I haven't been able to accomplish the upgrade without "losing" everything. The virtual machine snapshot that I revert to is from before I installed Docker and Mayan, that...

Re: Simple Docker upgrade steps incorrect?

This is what I initially ran to start Mayan during the installation of 3.3.8. This is from Mayan's website.: docker run \ -d \ --name mayan-edms \ --restart=always \ -p 80:8000 \ -e MAYAN_DATABASES="{'default':{'ENGINE':'django.db.backends.postgresql','NAME':'mayan','PASSWORD':'mayanuserpass','USER'...

[SOLVED] Simple Docker upgrade steps incorrect?

I have installed Mayan 3.3.8 using the Simple Docker installation steps located at https://docs.mayan-edms.com/chapters/docker/install_simple.html#docker-install onto an Ubuntu virtual machine. Everything appears to install normally and I'm able to access Mayan and setup users and import documents. ...
